Raising Bulls 19 April 2017 – Evan Louro

This week on Raising Bulls, the guys breakdown a classic home win for New York Red Bulls II over Orlando City B. Vincent Bezecourt took the reigns of the USL side’s reclamation of the 4-2-3-1 formation to great effect. Other players stood out as well in the “old” formation such as Junior Flemmings, Arun Basuljevic, and even the maligned David Abidor.

The game did feature one bleak turn; Michael Murillo is injured. The Panamanian right back has yet to feature for New York Red Bulls of MLS, and the injury set back could kill any momentum he had gained from his time with NYRBII.

After that, the guys talked to Evan Louro, NY’s goalkeeper during the early season. Louro grew up in South River, and spent time with the Red Bulls academy teams before heading to Michigan for college. There he played for the school and NPSL side Detroit City FC. Evan gave us great insight into his character and goals, and is a fantastic interview.

Finally, the guys preview the match against rival Rochester Rhinos. The Red Bulls dashed the Rhinos hopes in the playoffs, and there is a bit of a hangover upstate. The Rhinos lost a number of key players this offseason, and are struggling a bit to find their identity. Last week, Rochester lost to Charleston 5-0, their worst defeat in years.

Friend of the show, Bob Lilley has his work cut out for him with these recent results. As NY also look to erase their early season struggles, Rochester might be on the verge of waking up.
